Basic Instructions for Transferring your Iron on Transfer Image

You can use your computer to create a graphic design, and then with your ink jet printer and either an iron or heat press, transfer the image to fabric, clothing, wood and most porous surfaces. It is easy, inexpensive and fun.
Need a group shirt, a unique gift, or want to express yourself? Anyone with a computer and ink jet printer can try this. All you do is put the paper into the printer and print. Then iron the heat press image onto cotton or cotton/poly fabrics. The heat press paper transfers best onto 100% cotton or cotton/poly blends or 100% polyester. You can use it on silk or nylon, but remember that a hot iron may shrink the actual fabric, so you need to be very careful. Another tip for fabrics which shrink, like cotton, rayon, hemp, etc, is to pre-shrink before applying transfers.
After you have applied the transfer, your garment is washable and your transfer is permanent. You can make t-shirts, hats, picture quilts, or team uniforms. Be creative!
Steps for transferring your iron on transfer image
  1. Using an ink jet printer, print your image.
  2. Let the ink printed on the iron-on transfer dry thoroughly before handling.
  3. Trim away any un-printed paper around your image that you do not want to transfer.
  4. Transfer your image onto your fabric using either a hand iron or commercial heat press. Easy!

Do you want to start a t-shirt business? Consider purchasing a heat transfer press machines to save you time and do a better job.
